The Psychiatric Counselor provides a variety of patient care activities, including individual and group counseling in the context of patients’ treatment plans. This position reports to the Nurse Manager, Behavioral Health and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- BA or BS in Psychology or related field from an accredited school required. May consider BA or BS in another field if there is previous Psychiatric Counselor work experience.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- De-escalation training required within 30 days of hire or transfer into department.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working with the mentally ill and substance abuse populations required.
