The Position:
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Clinical Director) will be a hands-on leader within the clinic. The clinical director will be the Wound Care provider, supervise Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, as well as have daily responsibility and oversight of all clinical staff and operations within the facility. With assurance of continual full support from our Director of Clinical Services, Chief Medical Officer, and Executive Leadership team. The staff you will oversee includes Clinicians (LVN or MA), Front Desk Coordinator/Patient Care Coordinator, and Hyperbarics Technician.
The focus of this position is working with and through others, building and maintaining relationships, and working closely and accurately within established guidelines. There is a need for an effective communicator, someone who is able to stimulate and motivate others while being aware of and responsive to their needs and concerns. The person in this position must be friendly and genuinely interested in the business, agenda, and needs of others, including the company, its management, the team, and the company’s customers. A persuasive, teaching style of communication is required to communicate the company’s policies, programs, and systems. A faster-than-average pace will be the norm for this position. Detail work is a major focus of the job, and those details need to be handled quickly, correctly, and efficiently. If the job involves managing others, following up carefully, closely, and cheerfully is required to ensure both correct work and maintenance of the relationships. Necessary corrections must be made in a constructive, supportive manner. As time is usually a factor, the work must be done on time, as well as correctly.
Responsibilities:
- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients requiring wound care.
- Examine, diagnose, treat, and monitor patients who require Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
- Maintain effective operation of the Hyperbaric Chamber and Facility through the oversight and leadership of all clinic employees.
- Guide, train, and lead staff on day-to-day operations of the clinic.
- Manage patient compliance through education and communication with referring physicians.
- Partner with Marketing Team and Sales Team for guidance and training support.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ensure safety of all patients.
- Ensure safe and effective operation of hyperbaric chambers.
- Evaluate and assess all patients, new and existing, prior to patient undergoing hyperbaric treatment.
- Provide wound care to patients.
- Effectively and accurately maintain all patient records and documentation; assess and record patient’s progress.
- Effectively communicate with referring physicians on updates regarding their patients.
- Effectively communicate with patients regarding their treatment and provide education to further assist patient with their healing.
- Effectively conduct peer-to-peer reviews as needed.
- Ensure knowledge of proper billing codes.
- Maintain up-to-date education and CME courses as required by law.
- Responsible for maintaining clinic supplies for treatments.
- Understand and follow work rules and procedures.
- Always maintains a professional and tidy appearance.
- Maintain a professional and polite demeanor with all patients.
- Comply with rules and regulations of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society.
- Work with the Medical Director to ensure all medical issues are attended to.
- Actively participate in developing and maintaining relationships with physicians who are able to refer patients for necessary HBOT.
- As the leader of the clinic, lead by example by arriving at your clinic consistently in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid PA / NP license in the state of Texas.
- 3-5 years of experience or more as a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner.
- 4 years of Wound Care experience preferred.
- Hyperbaric experience is a huge value added.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, multitask, and be a team player.
- Must have a positive attitude.
- Must have an excellent bedside manner.
- Must have strong leadership skills.
- Must have up-to-date BLS.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be willing to get a wound care and hyperbaric certification within 6 months of hire. (Hyperbaric certification expense covered by the company)
