Speech-Language Pathologist - Barbara C Wilson, Woodbury
Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30-3:00 or 8:00-3:30, 35 hrs per week
Responsibilities:
- Perform speech-language evaluations and conduct therapy sessions appropriate to the developmental level of the assigned student.
- Establish and maintain appropriate professional relationships with children, their families, and staff.
- Fulfill record keeping and statistical requirements accurately and in a timely manner.
- May be required to attend evening meetings.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in speech-language pathology.
- Certification by the New York State Department of Education as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) or a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD).
- Experience in PROMPT and early childhood special needs population assessment and treatment.
- Knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of speech-language disorders.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students’ needs through a variety of formal and informal measures and provide speech, language, and hearing services as indicated on their IEP.
- Develop and implement appropriate strategies for intervention as per child’s IEP.
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Organize and complete reports and evaluations accurately and concisely.
- Participate in conferences, including parent and teacher meetings as assigned.
- Maintain appropriate professional standards in interactions with families.
- Demonstrate the abilities to be an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Maintain a healthy, safe, and attractive environment.
- Supervise Clinical Fellows (CF’s) and interns as requested.
- Attend CPSE meetings at various locations as required.
- Conduct training sessions for teachers, staff, and/or parents in areas of speech-language intervention.
- Maintain ongoing contact with parents regarding a student’s progress and intervention strategies.

Reports to: Clinical Coordinator – Speech Dept, Assistant Director, and Director.
