Job Description
The Registered Radiologic Technologist ARRT (R) is a professional who works with a Radiologist to diagnose and treat patients using diagnostic imaging examinations like X-rays, CT scans, and MRI scans. The Radiology Technician will prepare patients and equipment for radiology procedures, perform the tests, and maintain the equipment. ARRT’s explain procedures to patients, positioning patients and equipment, performing examinations, developing film, and maintaining and operating specialized radiologic equipment.
Job Duties
- Complete the patient intake process, taking patients’ histories, and preparing and educating patients about the imaging procedure.
- Review patients’ charts and Doctors’ notes before the examination, and maintain patients’ records during and after procedures.
- Prepare radiopharmaceuticals for contrast in the diagnostic images.
- Position patients and equipment to capture the correct area and produce clear images.
- Monitor patients and ensure their safety during imaging procedures.
- Calibrate the equipment to ensure clear, usable images are taken of the correct area as specified by the Doctor.
- Log and organize image results, develop film, assist with the interpretation of the radiograph results, and consult with Radiologists to determine if other images need to be taken.
- Ensure the proper sterilization and storage of the equipment, maintain radiographic equipment, and report any equipment failures.
- Coordinate with the radiology department to schedule and complete radiographic procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current radiology practices.
- The Registered Radiologic Technician assumes other responsibilities as assigned.

- Computer skills including MS Office, Outlook, Meditech, preferred.
Education and Experience
- Graduate of approved school of Radiologic Technology, required.
- ARRT registered or eligible, required.
- Kansas state Radiologic Technologist license, required.
- BLS certification, required.
- 3 or 4 years of MRI Radiology experience, preferred.
