JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Cancer Center Operations Manager, the Chief Radiation Therapist (CRT) supervises staff in assigned patient care areas according to the policies, philosophy, and objectives of the radiation oncology department and the medical center. They work with a multidisciplinary team to create a system of quality healthcare and to ensure that the operational needs of the department are met in order to provide high-quality care for patients. The CRT projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance, and conduct, and collaborates with departmental and organizational leadership to ensure the coordination of patient services and departmental functions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related area or 3 years oncology experience in lieu of degree, preferred.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved school for therapeutic radiologic technology, preferred.
Experience:
• Two years supervisory experience, preferred.
• Knowledge of Radiation Oncology billing practices, preferred.
Licensure/Credentials:
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Washington state Radiologic Technologist certification, required.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required.
