A Typical Day: Every day, our focus is on practicing quality medicine in a culture of fun and empowerment! Each doctor has two assigned technicians/assistants for appointment and procedure days. We have one tech/assistant assigned to Lab/Pharmacy and another to care for hospitalized pets. Although we have assigned roles, we work together to manage every aspect of service and care. Communication, collaboration, and teamwork are the keys to success and happiness for our clients, patients, and ourselves.
- Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.
- Venipuncture and IVC placement.
- Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.
- Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.
- Recognize subtle change in clinical status.
- Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them.
- Complete estimates and basic record keeping.
- Anesthesia monitoring for routine and emergency cases.
- Triage appointments as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
- Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
Schedule: Full-time opportunity with flexible scheduling up to 40 hrs per week. 4 x 10 hours.
