Job Summary and Qualifications
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures.
We are seeking an experienced RN who is ready to take that next career step up into a nursing leadership position as a Clinical Nurse Coordinator in the mother baby unit. In this role, you will mentor and support your team as they provide direct nursing care to postpartum mothers and healthy infants.
What you will do in this role:
- Provide day-to-day clinical management of the unit, maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Perform therapeutic patient-centered nursing care to delivering mothers as needed.
- Support personnel management functions such as interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with professional, regulatory, governmental and organizational standards.
- Maintain cultural and diversity awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
- 3+ years of current nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- 1 year of labor and delivery and/or mother baby nursing experience preferred.
- 1 year of leadership experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
