Roles and Responsibilities:
- Directs the timely monthly closing of the General Ledger (GL) system. Formulates, communicates and follows up on schedules for closing.
- Interprets and analyzes the financial results for management. Direct the analysis of budget to actual variances.
- Directs the maintenance of accounting records using the GL system. Proposes and implements system modifications to maintain compliance with changing legal and regulatory requirements and changing technological environments.
- Implements and oversees the development, enhancement of the general ledger and fixed asset subledger systems. Creates and implements test plans for fixes, upgrading of new versions.
- Coordinates the weekly processing of subsystem data into the General Ledger and oversees the data entry of journals into the General Ledger system.
- Establishes account analysis procedures and assigns responsibility to departments. Reviews and approves completed analyses. Ensures timely submission of account reconciliations and adequate explanations of variances.
- Guides the integration of all cash and temporary cash investment accounts into the General Ledger. Ensures all cash accounts are properly reconciled to support systems.
- Interacts with Cash Management, Payroll, Accounts Payable and other appropriate departments, as well as banking institutions, to resolve discrepancies. Facilitates the development and flow of cash reconciliation information and recommends resolutions.
- Directs the preparation of various financial statements and provides explanatory comments for management decisions.
- Directs both professional and agreement staff. Assists in the hiring and training of any new General Ledger staff.

- Manager of Accounting
- Senior Manager of fixed assets and Inventory
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and seven (7) years of applied progressive financial management experience.
- CPA firm experience highly desired.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum: Knowledge of computerized financial systems required. Understanding of financial subsystem operations preferred.
- Must be proficient in but not limited to, Excel, Word, Access, and Power Point.
