Sibley Memorial Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, has a distinguished history of serving the community since its founding in 1890. As a not-for-profit and full-service community hospital, Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic, and skilled nursing inpatient services, as well as a 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley’s campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence; a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers.
Job Summary: The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting central pharmacists and technicians in the delivery of medications and pharmaceutical products under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. Documents and updates documentation on various pharmaceutical products that are loaded in the automated dispensing machines. Communicates with pharmacy staff and nurses about medication when necessary and appropriate.
Education: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Required Licensure, Certification, On-going Training: Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy for Maryland or the District of Columbia Board of Pharmacy for DC as a Pharmacy Technician. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified, or obtain PTCB certification within 1 year of hire. Licensure required. PTCB for pharmacy students can be waived for those who have an active Pharmacist Intern License.
Work Experience: Six months of previous hospital experience required.
Shift: Full-Time, rotating schedule that includes weekends & holiday work.
Salary Range: Minimum $20.08 per hour - Maximum $34.13 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
