Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Location: Cattaraugus and Erie Counties
Salary: $70 - $80/hour

Job Overview:
We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide on-site psychiatric care and consultative services for individuals with developmental disabilities in Cattaraugus and Erie Counties. This position requires up to 40 hours per week of psychiatric services under the direction and supervision of the Western NY DDSOO and Article 16 Clinic Medical Director or their designee. Responsibilities include conducting psychiatric evaluations, managing medication, and creating treatment plans. Collaboration with the individual's treatment team is essential. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice as a Psychiatrist in the state of New York and possess experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site psychiatric care and consultative services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Conduct psychiatric assessments based on observations, interactions, and written reports.
- Evaluate mental status and identify specific treatment needs using DSM recognized disorders.
- Ensure clear and concise documentation of findings, treatment recommendations, and progress notes.
- Participate in treatment plan development and case management with the interdisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and utilize the Electronic Health Record System.
- Provide crisis intervention and monitor the effects of prescribed psychotropic medications.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid license to practice medicine in New York State as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
- Completion of an accredited general psychiatry training program acceptable by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
- Possess a New York State License as a Registered Professional Nurse with certification in the specialty of Psychiatry.
- Maintain a Collaborative Practice Agreement with a licensed physician qualified in Psychiatry, unless qualified under the Nurse Practitioner's Modernization Act.
- Have at least one year of experience in serving people with developmental disabilities.
- Not be listed on any state or federal Medicaid prohibition list.
