Location: BWH, 850 Boylston Street, Chestnut Hill, MA
Schedule: Part-time, 24 hours per week, Rotating shifts
Job Description:
The RN is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts who is responsible and accountable for a specified group of patients in Allergy and Clinical Immunology. The RN demonstrates initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs. Responsibilities include managing patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administers allergen immunotherapy/desensitization and allergy testing.
- Educates patients on allergen environmental control measures and the use of inhalers.
- Performs pre and post bronchodilator spirometry.
- Handles telephone call triage and patient management changes.
- Maintains perpetual inventory of samples and dispenses as directed by physicians.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required for newly licensed nurses.
Experience:
- Experience in an ambulatory outpatient office visit setting required.
- Current or recent pediatric experience required.
- Experience in Allergy and procedural experience required.
- Knowledge and experience with telephone triage required.
