EMSL is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician I (Chemistry) in Cinnaminson, NJ. The technician supports the laboratory analysts by preparing samples for analysis. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform a variety of sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure chemical and physical properties in a variety of matrices: air, dust, food, soil, solid, and/or water.
- Operate and maintain basic analytical equipment and instruments.
- Able to perform basic chemistry tasks such as pipetting, volumetric measurements, and the utilization of analytical balances.
- Perform basic calculations and conversions, and compile the data obtained.
- Be comfortable in a laboratory setting involving the handling of common laboratory reagents, such as acids, bases, and organic solvents.
- Perform all chemical handling safely following laboratory procedures.
- Understand and adhere to standard operating procedures and quality control procedures established for each analytical method.
Requirements:
Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, be able to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
Work independently and with a team.
Concise, organized, and meticulous regarding work assignments.
Knowledge of basic computer skills such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is required.
Available Shifts:
Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
