Essential Functions

Provide safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients/families using nursing interventions to assist them in attaining, maintaining, regaining, and sustaining optimal health status.
Provide patient care/function in a primary scrub position.
Assist with technical responsibilities in assigned operative procedures.
Ensure appropriate instruments/supplies are present and in proper working condition.
Provide labeled medications with correct doses on the sterile field.
Perform other duties that support the operative team, including following patient care handoff protocol.
Actively participate in the quality improvement process.
Engage in learning and self-improvement.

Refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation for specific duties and responsibilities.
Abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
