The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Cardiology are actively seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of General (Community-Based) Pediatric Cardiologist at the level of Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Practitioner). The successful candidate will join an existing partner in a dedicated community-based Pediatric Cardiology practice owned and operated by the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and will also provide aspects of care at the main CHLA campus in Los Angeles.
Candidates should be clinically trained in general pediatric cardiology, with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects. The preferred candidate should have a broad exposure to, and familiarity with the assessment of newborns, infants, and children in an inpatient setting, and also be familiar with general pediatric cardiology outpatient concerns, including post-operative follow-up following surgical repair of congenital heart disease. Candidates should display excellent communication skills, technical ability, and a willingness to participate in the increasingly utilized team-based-care approach in a community setting. A strong working knowledge of non-invasive imaging and the ability to perform echocardiography independently is also a requirement for this role. Ability to perform and interpret fetal echocardiography will be an advantage, but a dedicated prior fellowship in non-invasive imaging is not a requirement for this role.
This position will include community-based night and weekend on-call responsibilities to be shared on a rotating basis. It is a requirement therefore to reside in the vicinity of the community supported by this practice, near to Los Angeles County. Duties at the CHLA campus will include general echocardiography, teaching activities, and may include other academic pursuits as mutually agreed upon.

As a core component of the hospital's Heart Institute, our division offers expertise in all major areas of cardiology, with nationally-recognized subspecialists in all major areas. Children are referred to us for care from across the western United States and Pacific Rim countries.
Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated scholarly, clinical, and teaching capabilities. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics and be eligible for medical licensure in the State of California.
The annual base salary range for this position is $95,904-$325,712.
