Job Description:

Medical Technologist-Lab-Full-Time

Responsibilities:

Prepare, perform and record test procedures in accordance with established criteria as assigned and optimize patient safety with minimal medical/health care errors in any or all the sections of the Clinical Laboratory.
Perform specimen collection procedures as needed, i.e. phlebotomy collections.
Promote good public relations and maintain a professional attitude for the laboratory department and facility.
Assist in departmental training of new employees and students.
Ensure operation of analyzers and other laboratory equipment by calibrating; performing preventative maintenance; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.
Adhere to specific hospital policy and procedures.

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited program of Medical Technology or related science; successful completion of School for Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science.
Four years of college with courses pertaining to biology and chemistry.
Previous experience in a clinical laboratory is desirable.
