Work Designation: Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be
hybrid or
remote. - If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. What does it take to be successful in this role? - Strong knowledge and understanding of actuarial governance
- Extensive knowledge of insurance products, operations and existing regulations
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and the ability to collaborate with the actuarial team and management to reach a common agreement
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent presentation, oral, and written communications skills
Education & Experience Required - Bachelor's Degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or a related field
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation
- 10 years of professional job related work experience, 5 years management experience
- Experience in corporate actuarial governance
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Education & Experience Preferred - Master's degree in a related field
Travel Less than or equal to 10%
Principal Duties & Responsibilities - Leads a team in Corporate Actuarial responsible for enterprise actuarial governance
- Leads the creation of a global pricing policy
- Oversees standardization of pricing reports and reporting cadence across the enterprise to ensure compliance with pricing policy
- Leads the creation of an actuarial assumption and model governance policy
- Oversees a quarterly governance committee, reporting results to management and coordinates the preparation of materials to support current and future assumption and model changes; documents the impact of each change prior to approval, to include the impact to financial statements and/or pricing results
- Establishes a framework to track when assumptions were last changed, the cadence to review each assumption, and the documentation associated with any changes.
- Develops Actuarial governance and model validation skills on the team
- Supports the LDTI unlocking assumption changes
- Performs other related duties as required
Total Rewards This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $260,000.
