We currently have a permanent part-time position available for an experienced Registered Nurse to work as part of the Sexual Health team. This is a Monday to Friday role.
The Sexual Health Service is based at 3 Ohaupo Road in Hamilton and provides free confidential sexual healthcare. Our core service is the diagnosis and management of sexually transmitted infections including appropriate partner notification. The service also provides emergency contraception, vaccination for Hepatitis B and Gardasil, and HIV prevention medication (PEP and PrEP). Additionally, we provide care for a range of related conditions e.g. genital skin conditions, chronic genital pain, and gender-affirming care including hormone therapy.
Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:
- Must have a special interest in Sexual Health, particularly in men’s Sexual Health
- Previous experience in Sexual Health is advantageous as this role is highly specialised
- Being non-judging and offering compassionate care is essential as stigma and shame are highly predictive of self-harm and suicide risk
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- A current annual practicing certificate
- A team player
