Job Summary
Provides patient care through the provision of direct operational and/or clinical patient services. Pharmacists will collaborate within the department and with other health care providers to enhance departmental and institutional programs. Provides leadership through participation in departmental and institutional committees, participation in postgraduate didactic and experiential training programs, and promotion of the profession. This position will require employees to work weekends, holidays and/or any required evenings. The amount of time allocated to operations and clinical services will depend upon patients' requirements, staffing, and overall pharmacy workload.
Accountabilities
- Provides leadership and pharmaceutical excellence through direct patient care activities as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. 35%
- Provides leadership in the provision of health care education including postgraduate didactic and experiential training programs as well as education for GHS nursing, pharmacy, and medical staff. 20%
- Provides accurate order-entry, drug distribution, and clinical pharmaceutical care (which may include point of care testing). 15%
- Actively participates and leads department and institutional committees and projects (ex. Performance improvement, formulary management, regulatory, patient safety, financial). 15%
- Provides concise, applicable, timely responses for drug information requests and other pharmaceutical care services. Provides documentation in the patient care record when appropriate. 10%
- Actively participates in representing Prisma Health within a professional organization through the provision of service, presentations, and/or publications. 5%
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
- PharmD + 2 residencies or 1 residency and BCPS or 2 BCPS
- 1 year - Hospital pharmacy practice including patient focused care. Hospital pharmacy practice + residency training will count for experience.
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
- SC Registered Pharmacist
In Lieu Of
May be a graduate of an ACPE accredited US college of Pharmacy with a SC intern certificate pending initial licensure or have completed requirements for reciprocity pending board of pharmacy interview for licensure. In the ambulatory setting, will accept BCACP in lieu of BCPS.
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
- Experience utilizing postgraduate programs (specialized residency, fellowship), certificate programs, or Board certification
