Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help patients regain independence in their daily activities. You will assist in developing and implementing treatment plans, conducting therapeutic activities, and assessing progress towards therapeutic goals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in evaluating patients' functional abilities
- Implement treatment plans as directed by the occupational therapist
- Provide therapeutic exercises and activities to help improve physical and cognitive skills
- Educate patients and their families on home exercises and adaptive equipment
- Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Maintain a clean and organized therapy area
- Participate in continuing education to stay current on best practices in occupational therapy
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- State licensure to practice as a COTA
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Experience working with diverse patient populations
- Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices
