Job Description
The Medical Supply Specialist (MSS) works to effectively promote products and services to referral sources and to the general public. The Medical Supply Specialist is responsible for identifying new markets and maintaining strong relationships with current referral sources. The MSS must have thorough product knowledge and understanding to effectively market to healthcare providers. They will also work on insurance contracts for their corresponding states in conjunction with the Sales Leaders effort. This position is full-time plus any additional time necessary to complete the functions of the Medical Supply Specialist position.
Role Responsibilities
- Establish a sales plan that encompasses all referral sources for the entire service area of the organization.
- Conduct, participate in, and attend in-person educational meetings, seminars, and health fairs (or similar community activities) for referral sources, healthcare workers, and the community at large.
- Maintain records of sales calls and follow-up made. Report sales activities monthly to Sales Leader.
- Support the organization by informing management of areas of concern and problems to be resolved.
- Participate in management activities as requested by upper management.
- Communicate to Sales Leader regularly on meeting and sales activities.
- Be aware of third-party reimbursement responsibilities, equipment and services offered, and necessary documentation.
- Maintain proper documentation for expenses and requested reimbursement on a monthly basis.
- Assist in developing a sales budget.
- Review advertising needs for the organization with upper management and update the sales plan accordingly.
- Attend sales meetings.
- Adhere to company policies regarding compliance and confidentiality.
- In addition to the above, the responsibilities of this position include such other duties, tasks, and activities as are customarily and traditionally associated with this position, or that may be assigned to this position from time to time.
- Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by management.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Multiple years of direct sales experience with documented success.
- Experience selling medical supplies to Urology is preferred.
- Self-motivated with a proven track record of consistently hitting or overachieving on sales goals.
- Strong communications and analytics skills with experience navigating sales CRMs.
- Ability to leverage relationships with key decision-makers within medical offices to drive growth.
- Able to function as a team member with a positive attitude.
- Good computer skills preferred.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to handle multiple tasks with numerous interruptions.
- Able to prepare and submit reports.
- Able to maintain confidentiality.
- Upbeat and outgoing personality.
- Proper time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to overcome objections or rejection.
- Able to perform presentations to groups.

- Access to a proper operating vehicle.
- Valid driver’s license; good driving record.
Compensation Information
- Base: $65k - $75k
- Total Income First Year: $130k - $140k+ uncapped.
