The Associate Chemist is involved in conducting various technical procedures, including the analysis of silica-based resins, purification of organic compounds, and supporting laboratory work in research and development. Responsibilities also encompass meticulous record-keeping, laboratory maintenance, adherence to safety guidelines, and participation in continuous improvement processes. Furthermore, the role includes managing equipment logbooks, ensuring the reliability of laboratory apparatus, and troubleshooting instrumentation such as LC/MS systems.
Responsibilities
- Document and update drug product binders
- Responsible for medical devices in compliance with new corporate standards
- Responsible for quality documentation requirements for reclassified products
- Prepare small-scale laboratory batches of oral care products
- Assist with formulation development
- Monitor product stability via testing (i.e., pH, viscosity) at specified time points
- Record information accordingly to the department database
- Assist with and maintain good laboratory practices
- Fill project documents, transfer hard copy data into electronic files onto the company intranet
- Review chromatographic data as time allows

- Assisting with product bundle book compilation
- Assist with researching EPA, REACH / ROHS, and other government regulations about the products
- Assist R&D Chemists with the manufacture, testing, and evaluation of new products and raw materials
- Perform laboratory assignments/tasks
- Provide support for quality control and manufacturing
- Comply with all OSHA and company workplace safety requirements
- Participate in multifunctional teams
- Schedule the shipping/receiving of sterilized components
- Maintain chemical inventory and notify appropriate personnel when inventory is low
- Maintain SDS inventory in the relevant system
- Perform preventative maintenance of LC/MS systems
