Pershing General Hospital is looking to hire Registered Nurses for our Long-Term Care unit. LTC nurses will need BLS certification prior to hire.

Essential Functions

- Demonstrates effective leadership skills with the communication, organization and management of assigned work.
- Accountable for the ethical, legal and professional responsibilities related to nursing practice across the roles of member of the profession, provider, advocate, manager and educator.
- Helps the patient/family group to identify and meet basic health needs using identified standards of practice based on the nursing process.
- Promotes a climate in which residents/patients and their families may act in their own interest, and intervenes when residents/patients and/or families are unable to act in their own best interest.
- Identifies and takes the initiative in expanding own knowledge base and the knowledge base of cohorts.
- If designated as Charge Nurse during their shift, assumes responsibility of the hospital in totality as the House Supervisor, which includes decision making with other departments in absence of their immediate supervisors.
- Serves as a preceptor and role model for new staff members.
- Participates in and demonstrates understanding of Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance in the organization.
