Summary:
Oversee and assist operations of the lab to ensure the making of eyewear is accurate to prescription, ready as promised, and meets our “7 Point Quality Check” standards.
Pay Class and Pay
Pay Class: Part Time
Pay: $10.76 - $14.53 per hour
- Assist General Manager with ensuring all lab associates are trained on all lab equipment and Lab Certification Program.
- Verify all lab equipment is appropriately calibrated and maintained, lens inventory procedures are followed, and lab expenses are kept at optimum levels.
- Meet all job completion requirements according to quality standards emphasizing “as promised” service.
- Assist the General Manager in controlling store level expenses to maximize store profit, i.e., lab supplies and training hours.
- Maintain a proper level of lenses and lab supplies to ensure prompt customer service and assist the General Manager in controlling inventory shrinkage through the monitoring and recording of breakage, defects, exchanges, special orders and receipts.
- Perform regular equipment maintenance daily in accordance with maintenance checklists and ensure that all equipment malfunctions are addressed immediately.
- Follow Company guidelines for safety rules, hazardous material handling and waste disposal.
Education:
- One (1) – five (5) years of related experience required
- Optical preferred
- HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience
Additional Relevant Experience/Education Required:
- Must demonstrate practical application of optical theory and math
- Must meet all Lab Certification requirements
- Communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English in order to understand written procedures, hazardous warning, etc.
