Reporting to the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor, incumbent is responsible for the performance of the full range of in vivo and in vitro Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and related chemical substances. Responsible for the provision of quality patient care, including the timely throughput of patients and the performance of their exams. Operates and performs quality control of stationary and portable scintillation equipment including, gamma cameras, Geiger-Mueller counters, well counters, dose calibration devices and ancillary equipment. Performs PET, Nuc Med, and CT diagnostic studies on PET/CT scanner, including injection of CT Contrast Media, image acquisition and reformatting. The incumbent is responsible for performing necessary scans and procedures to aid in scanner qualification for research trials. Creates and programs study specific protocols including administration, imaging and reformatting under the direction of the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor and Medical Director. Requirements include working On-Call and working.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Knowledge of State regulatory radiation safety practices and the principles of ALARA
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Must be able to provide on-call/call-back service as needed
- Minimum one year, full-time experience working as a CNMT
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Current BLS certification
- Current and active State of California CNMT License
- Current and active NMTCB and/or AART (N) licensure for Nuclear Medicine
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year, full time experience performing Nuclear Medicine procedures.
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
