Summary:
Provides specialty health care services in both outpatient and acute care settings for certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Responsibilities:
- Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
- Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions, including use of prescriptive authority and referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
- Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health and wellness, treatment options, and community resources. Provides care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision-making and the right to self-determination.
- Provides inpatient and/or outpatient care to include preoperative, intra-operative, and post-operative services, as well as critical care/intensive care medical management.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Nurse Practitioner Requirements:
- Master's degree in Nursing and graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with specialization in area of practice.
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
- Unrestricted medical staff membership, with appropriate practice privileges.
- Appropriate credentialing through Medical Staff Services. Prescriptive authority as appropriate, per medical staff service privileging process.
- Certification by ANCC or AANP, licensing verification by the State Board of Nursing, search of the HSS, EPLS, and DEA systems.
Preferred: 5 years of experience in the identified area of expertise.
REQUIRED: ENT Experience
Physician Assistant Requirements:
- Completion of a nationally accredited educational program for Physician Assistants.
- State licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- Unrestricted DEA permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice. Appropriate credentialing through Medical Staff Services.
- Eligible to provide reimbursable Physician services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid. Eligible to provide services with no sanctions or exclusions from either the Health and Human Services/Office of Inspector General (HHS/OIG) Cumulative Sanction Report or the General Services Administration's (GSA) List of Parties Excluded from Federal Programs.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
