Job Responsibilities
- Examines patient, takes medical history, records results, and makes preliminary diagnosis or in conjunction with the physician decides on follow up.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Administers and orders diagnostic tests and interprets test results.
- Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and managing infection.
- In combination with the physician will develop and implement patient care plans, instructs and counsels patients, and records progress.
- Medication prescription to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinical regulations.
- Provides patient education.
- Assists physician in patient surgical procedures.
- Follow up on patients both inpatient and outpatient.
