Our office, Chin Oral Surgery - Chicago, is seeking a talented surgical assistant to join our busy specialty practice.
We are looking for a talented and skilled Surgical Assistant to help us accomplish our mission to improve the lives of our patients by providing a world-class specialty experience for every patient. Your Responsibilities
- Prepare the surgical area, instruments, and equipment before each procedure.
- Assist the surgeon during procedures by anticipating the surgeon's needs and assisting as required.
- Keep surgical areas and instruments clean and sterilized.
- Monitor and record patient vitals and ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and provide post-operative instructions and materials to patients.
- Help maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the surgeon or office manager.
- Must be able to travel to our other office location as needed.
- Ability to work three 12-hour shifts a week, Tuesday - Thursday.
As one of the essential members of our office, you will also help to facilitate/coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.
Your Background
- At least 3 years of experience as surgical assistant, specialty is preferred
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- A strong attention to detail
- Well-organized and reliable
- A high school diploma
- A certificate from an accredited surgical assistant program (if required by law)
- An active state radiology license (if required by law)
