Job Summary: The Behavioral Health Lead is the head of the wraparound team at each AGNW location. The BHL will provide services to All Good NW participants in accordance with NASW Code of Ethics, harm reduction principles, and trauma informed care practices; Including, but not limited to mental health assessments, service planning, incident response support, and skills training. Duties and Responsibilities are used in revising or developing performance review objectives for employees.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Participants
- Utilize evidence-based and trauma informed interventions in assessment, service planning, evaluation, and service delivery.
- Guide wraparound team in building team service plans for participants.
- Act as a leader on the wraparound team in using discernment and problem-solving to offer resources and interventions for participants.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation supports to participants demonstrating high emotionality and reactive, unsafe behavior.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create and implement team service plans for All Good participants.
- Utilizing All Good Northwest’s Theory of Change, Trauma Informed Care, Harm Reduction and Housing First informed practices, provide supports to participants engaging in substance use, or impacted by addiction and/or mental health issues.
- Collaborate with colleagues in creation, implementation, and monitoring of support plans, as needed.
- Maintain professional boundaries in accordance with All Good policies and NASW Code of Ethics.
- Assist participants in identifying their needs and provide support identifying and accessing relevant community resources.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with participants who elect to pursue ongoing care.
- Develop resiliencies in participants, individually or in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.
- Oversee harm reduction and wellness plans.
- Participate in assessment and orientation process with all new participants.
- Lead evaluative interviews with all participants transitioning out of the program.
Administrative
- Provide staff with relevant coaching regarding mental health, neurodiversity, safety and all other relevant organizational or field education.
- Reference All Good Values, Mission, and Theory of Change in decision making and service delivery practices.
- Attend relevant trainings and supervisions.
- Maintain effective communication with all staff, volunteers, programs, and community partners.
- Auditing case notes for care continuity.
- Developing and approving programming such as resiliency-based groups/events.
- Adhere to all state and federal privacy and security regulations applicable to the program, and to All Good NW’s policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security.
- Complete, maintain, and audit records, reports & notes for accuracy regarding the participants’ histories and progress, services provided, or other required information.
- Provide occasional coverage as needed within reason.
- Management of hours of onsite availability.
- Post/facilitate site leadership meetings with Program Manager and Team Lead.
- As the Wraparound lead, the BHL must understand All Good Northwest’s Theory of Change and Wraparound approach and adhere to expectations therein.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervises program work, assignment of case loads, and team adherence to program standards.
- Evaluates team effectiveness and supports Program Manager, Assistant Program Manager, and Team Leads in personnel decisions regarding team performance.
- This position provides behavioral/clinical supervision to peer support advocates, case managers, and shelter staff.
Required Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other related field OR 5 years of work experience in the human services field with a demonstrable history of progressive advancement.
- Current QMHA registration in Oregon or ability to register within 30 days of hire.
Required Experience:
- 1-3 years management/supervisory experience in social work/social services or mental/behavioral health.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Understanding of Trauma Informed Care, Housing First and Harm Reduction models.
- Ability to demonstrate competencies through scenario questions in the interview process. Competencies include ethical and professional behavior, ability to engage with diversity and difference, and knowledge of assessments/interventions/evaluations.
- Ability to effectively interact with co-workers and clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, political affiliation, cultural backgrounds, life-styles, and sexual orientations and treat each individual with respect and dignity.
- Professional maintenance of appropriate boundaries.
Preferred Education and Certifications:
- Master’s in social work, counseling or similar.
- Current QMHP registration in Oregon.
- Other certification or training.
Preferred Experience:
- 4-5 years’ experience in social work/social services or mental/behavioral health.
- Oversight of client information databases, developing operating strategies, plans, or procedures.
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
Additional eligibility requirements:
- Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform assigned tasks.
- Must be able to work in a drug free environment.
- Must be able to pass a background check upon hire.
