Your Impact:
Our dynamic and highly collaborative Pipeline Product Support team is looking for candidates who are interested in helping to build out our new Healthy Donor Core. In this role, you will be foundational to Poseida’s ability to assess and identify preferred donors for use in our allogeneic cell therapy manufacturing, and facilitate continuous research by providing isolated blood products. You will work directly with other departments to ensure efficient and consistent screening practices are followed and ultimately enable manufacturing of CAR-T cell therapies for cancer patients in need.
Position Summary:
The Supervisor will manage and work as part of the Healthy Donor Core team to screen donor blood products for possible enrollment into our preferred donor pool. The primary responsibilities will involve the isolation of primary lymphocytes for pre-clinical research, CAR-T cell production, characterization of various products using flow cytometry and other in-vitro assays, along with scheduling and management of several direct reports. Additional responsibilities include raw material testing and inventory, intra-departmental coordination, data analysis and organization, and preparing financial reports, with the assistance of your manager.
Responsibilities
These may include but are not limited to:
- Performance and support of donor screening activities, including the isolation of T cells and other lymphocytes from human blood products, and the production and banking of Pan-T and CAR-T cells.
- Execution and analysis of multiple flow cytometry-based assays for characterization of Pan-T, cell therapy products and in-vivo tissue samples.
- Adherence to paper-based and/or electronic batch records, SOPs, policies, and work instructions per GDP standards to ensure consistency and traceability.
- Alliance with manufacturing on representative screening process as production updates are implemented.
- Collaboration with various departments on raw material inventory, CAR-T cell testing, in-vivo studies, data compilation, and Pan-T supply.
- Ensure timely testing and documentation of blood product donor material.
- Author and revise batch records, SOPs, worksheets, and other documents, as necessary.
- Partner with Process Development and Logistics to design and execute process improvement studies.
- Compile accurate quarterly financial reports.
- Communication of results and issues in a concise and timely manner to colleagues.
- Recruit and manage a team of research associates.
- Data presentation (written and oral) in internal and cross-functional meetings, as required.
Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with 5+ years relevant experience in the field of immunology, biology, or related field (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
- Self-motivated, positive, and detail oriented with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional and fast-paced team environment.
- Expertise in cell culture and aseptic technique is required.
- Proficiency in multi-parameter flow cytometry and FACS data analysis programs.
- Experience with the characterization, culture, expansion, and manipulation of T cells or CAR-T cells.
- Demonstrated experience with cell separation technologies (e.g. Miltenyi AutoMACS, Prodigy, etc.) is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with MS-Office suite of software.
- Excellent record keeping and data management skills are required.
- Ability to organize, communicate, and present data sets to key stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communicator with track record of working effectively as an individual contributor and in teams.
Pay Rate: $49.50/hour to $57.50/hour
The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience with the industry, education, geographic location, etc.
