Job Summary:
The Clinical Staff Leader is a supervisory leadership role and a key member of the Nursing leadership team. The CSL leads staff members and participates in overall management of the unit, development of clinical practice, and provision of patient care. Responsibilities include implementation and outcomes for people leadership, quality, service, compliance, finance, throughput, and scheduling.
Located on the 8th floor at Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital (VUH), the Cardiac Stepdown unit cares for adult patients with cardiovascular disorders.
Our unit fosters individual growth and provides coaching for personal advancement along with safe, quality patient care. New nurses receive extensive orientation and resources to ensure their success.

- Plans and sets day-to-day objectives for the team.
- Resolves technical and operational problems within provided guidelines.
- Applies advanced subject matter knowledge within a specific technical area.
- Leads/supervises a unit within a department.
