This position is based at our Bothell, WA site which is approximately 15 miles from the downtown Seattle area.
We are seeking an experienced lab-based in vivo scientist with drug discovery experience to join our In Vivo Pharmacology Group. The qualified candidate is a highly motivated and interactive scientist who will participate in pre-clinical drug discovery and development projects with a focus on ADC Biology and Cancer Immunology. The candidate will be dedicated to working with project teams to design, plan and execute an in vivo strategy to ensure efficient and effective decision-making. The individual will be capable of presenting scientific results to program key stakeholders.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, execute and analyze in vivo pharmacology studies.
- Utilizes a variety of tumor CDX/PDX/GEMM/Syngeneic models and drug administration routes to profile drug candidates and study MoA in tumor-bearing mice.
- Conduct in vivo studies to evaluate and establish efficacy, PK/PD relationship, combination strategy, biomarker identification and analysis.
- Effectively manage study timeline and coordinate study logistics with cross functional program teams.
- Quality documentation and interpretation of experimental results.
- Presentation of results within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Ensure appropriate use of animals in compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal standards.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Biology or similar discipline with 6+ years relevant in-vivo experience in an academic or industry environment OR
- MS in Biology or similar discipline with 3+ years relevant in-vivo experience in an academic or industry environment.
- Experience with animal models of human cancers.
- Proficiency in cell culture, passaging and harvesting cells is required.
- Hands on in vivo skills (IV, PO, SC, IP dosing), blood/tissue collection.
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Experience integrating biological concepts into experimental design.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- In vivo pharmacology experience in an Industry environment.
- Highly skilled and proficient in the following in vivo Pharmacology techniques: tumor model development, subcutaneous tumor implantation, animal identification and randomization, tumor measurements by caliper.
- Proficiency in utilizing software such as GraphPad Prism, electronic lab notebooks, Microsoft Office etc. for data analysis and figure generation.
- Prior knowledge of downstream techniques example: PK bioanalytics, sample prep and processing for flow cytometry, histology and other PD assays.
- Highly motivated and ability to be flexible in case of changing priorities.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lifting, sitting, standing, walking, bending, ability to perform mathematical calculations and ability to perform complex data analysis.
- Must be able to wear specialized protective clothing and PPE (e.g., lab coat, safety shoes, safety glasses).
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Must be willing and able to work after hours as needed to ensure study integrity.
Work Location Assignment: On Premise
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $74,900.00 to $124,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
