Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunity Near Norman, OK (ASAP - Ongoing)
We are currently seeking two Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine Physicians for a locum tenens assignment near Norman, OK. This opportunity offers scheduled clinical hours only, with no call coverage required. The position is open due to a vacancy and will be ongoing, with the potential for a permanent placement.
The ideal candidate will be available to start ASAP, and be licensed in Oklahoma. The assignment involves working in an outpatient emergency department with a steady volume of patients, providing vital care to the community.
- Start Date: ASAP - Ongoing
- Shift Type: 12-hour shifts (day or night)
- Coverage: 24 hours of physician coverage per day
- Additional APP Coverage: 10 hours of APP coverage daily
- Patients Per Shift: 27-28
- Admission Rate: 12%
- Bed Count in Department: 11
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency care to patients in a high-volume emergency department.
- Collaborate with APPs and other healthcare staff to ensure patient care is of the highest quality.
- Utilize MediTech EMR system for documentation and patient records.
Certification Requirements:
- Board Certification/Eligibility: Required in Emergency Medicine
- Fellowship: Not required
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
For EM-trained physicians, ATLS, ACLS, and PALS are not required, but for Primary Care-trained physicians, these certifications are necessary.
Practice Setting:
- No Inpatient Coverage or Admissions Required
- No Call: Strictly clinical shifts with no on-call responsibilities
- Holiday Coverage: Holidays include New Year’s Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
- EMR: MediTech
