We are seeking a Wound Care Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team!

Vibra Hospital of Charleston, located in Mount Pleasant, SC is a 58 bed Critical Care Hospital providing acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Often our patients require additional critical care services for medically complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputation and ventilator weaning. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly work environment where you really get to know your patients and their families.
Responsibilities
Contributes to and implements the plan of care of assigned patients with wound care needs. Provide education and instruction for patients and families related to the wound care treatment plan. Specific components of the Licensed Nurse role include demonstrating clinical competence, improving quality of care, demonstrating professionalism in the performance of duties and responsibilities, promoting teamwork and a positive work environment, fulfilling role responsibilities and expectations, and developing clinical expertise per specialty.
Required Skills:
- Current, valid and active license to practice as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse in the state of employment required.
- Current BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor required. One (1) year experience in wound care required.
Additional Qualifications/Skills:
- Certification in Wound Care preferred within 6 months of hire.
- Previous experience working in wound care or demonstrated interest and aptitude in wound care skills preferred.
- Ability to identify and implement components of the nursing process. Identify learning needs and teach patients and families.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of teams and individuals. Ability to project a professional image.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
- Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations. Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions (Word processing, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, etc.)
- Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
