Our support staff is trained, motivated and empowered to triage and carry out directed patient care, allowing our veterinarians to focus on examining, diagnosing, treating and prescribing.

Job Responsibilities:
- Emergency veterinary care to dogs and cats.
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations to accurately assess patient conditions allowing for triage of multiple patients.
- Perform emergency surgical procedures when necessary: Common procedures include lacerations, gastrointestinal foreign bodies, GDV, Cesarean section & pyometra.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, delivering compassionate guidance and education regarding treatment options and prognoses.
- Collaborate closely with our skilled veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure seamless patient care and client satisfaction.
- Foster strong relationships and collaborate with local veterinarians to provide continuity of care for patients and support the broader veterinary community.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records in accordance with The Louisiana Veterinary Practice Act, hospital protocols and industry standards.

Job Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Active veterinary license in Louisiana, in good standing.
- Experience in emergency veterinary medicine preferred, though new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong diagnostic and surgical skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for building rapport with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, prioritizing patient care and safety.
