Responsibilities
- The Nursing Director of Surgical Services has 24/7 responsibility for their departments.
- Develop and execute strategic plans for the surgical services department.
- Provide visionary leadership to foster excellence and collaboration.
- Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflows and enhance efficiency.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure high standards of patient care.
- Lead initiatives to improve clinical practices and compliance.
- Recruit, train, and mentor surgical services staff.
- Promote ongoing professional development for the team.
- Foster strong relationships with surgeons and other stakeholders.
- Act as a liaison between the surgical services department and other hospital units.
- Develop and manage the department's budget.
- Identify opportunities for revenue generation and cost-saving initiatives.
- Stay informed about industry regulations and accreditation standards.
- Implement and monitor policies for regulatory compliance.
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the department or organization.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve organizational goals.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff members, including training and development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including HIPAA.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to improve processes and enhance patient care.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and manage budgets, including forecasting and cost control measures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in surgical services within an acute care setting.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
