Make a Difference
Provide oversight and management of pharmacy operations at applicable location(s). The individual must take a leadership role in organizing, directing, and monitoring pharmacy services in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
Exceptional Skills and Qualifications
- 4 year / Bachelor's Degree: Graduate of accredited college of pharmacy required (Required)
- Doctorate Degree: Pharm D preferred (Preferred)
- Within six (6) months from hire Certifications/Licensures: (Licensed as a Pharmacist by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA))
- 0+ years: One (1) to three (3) years hospital pharmacy experience preferred (Required)
- Supervise day to day pharmacy operations within the facility.
- Supervises, mentors, and provides feedback to pharmacy staff.
- Participates in hiring, discipline, orientation, and training needs of pharmacy staff.
- Responsible for communication of information to the pharmacy staff.
- Assure appropriate staffing and coverage for staffing vacancies.
- Coordinate training and competency needs for the clinical development of staff pharmacists.
- Supports compliance with Federal and State laws, Joint Commission standards, Department of Health, and State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Participate in development and implementation of clinical services.
- Participate as resource for education of inter and intradepartmental staff.
- Provide drug information to other health care professionals.
- Provide an interface from patient care areas to medication distribution process.
- Review and interpret physician medication orders and evaluate medication profiles.
- Document pharmaceutical care activities as defined by the department.
- Process or check orders in pharmacy computer system.
- Maintain a positive and productive working relationship with other members of the department.
- Contact and confer with the physician and/or other healthcare professionals with questions or irregularities regarding medication orders.
- Provide direct patient care when needed.
