Overview:
We currently have an opening at the Boise lab for a night shift supervisor. The role involves supervising around 15 direct reports, which includes medical laboratory scientists and clinical laboratory assistants. The supervisor will also be responsible for managing the technical aspects of urinalysis. This is a great opportunity to lead the night shift team and contribute to the development of an outstanding lab and culture.
What You Can Expect:
The Supervisor Laboratory 2 is responsible for directing, coordinating, and assisting in the activities of workers performing routine tests in clinical laboratories for the use in treatment and diagnosis of diseases. Ensures laboratory services meet the needs of patients and services are performed in accordance with accepted standards and practices.
- Provides leadership, guidance, counseling and continuing education to staff.
- Prepares and maintains area policy and procedure manual.
- Ensures compliance of all areas with state, local and appropriate regulatory agency requirements.
- Provides all areas with administrative support.
- Conducts performance appraisals.
- Contributes to the budget for capital purchases and supply projections.
- Orders/manages supplies for the area/department.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
- Follows laboratory policies and procedures in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements.
- Consults with medical staff and other healthcare providers on matters relating to laboratory services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's of Science degree.
- Experience: 5 years experience.
- Licenses/Certifications: Must have one of the following:
- Blood Banking (ASCP_BB)
- Chemistry (ASCP_C)
- Cytogenetics (CYGT)
- Cytotechnologist (ASCP_CT)
- Hematology (ASCP_H)
- Histotechnologist (ASCP_HTL)
- Microbiology (ASCP_M)
- Medical Lab Scientist (ASCP_MLS)
- Medical Technologist (ASCP_MT or AMT_MT)
