Practice Overview
Our client stands as one of the preeminent humane societies in Colorado, housed in a state-of-the-art facility constructed in 2017. They are steadfast in their commitment to excellence, demonstrated by their partnerships with local academic institutions to breed awareness and support. Championing autonomy, they empower their team to deliver unparalleled care and even facilitate meaningful adoptions.
What You’ll Be Working On
- Aid in population management
- Diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of shelter animal cases
- Perform general wellness exams and surgeries
- Prescribe necessary medications for patients
- Maintain a high level of communication and patient care
- Guide and utilize exceptional support staff
- Maintain a positive work environment and promote teamwork
Qualifications
- Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited program is required
- Being licensed or able to become licensed in the state of Colorado
- 1 year of experience as a shelter veterinarian required
- 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity required
- Strong surgical skills in dentistry are a plus, not a must
- Obtain or retain DEA licensure
- Ability to examine and provide care for all incoming animals
- Strong diagnostic skills
- Capability to adjust effectively despite resource constraints
