Job Overview:
Assist the physician with endoscopic procedures and anticipate the physician's needs throughout the procedure. Assist the RN and/or physician in implementing and data gathering in the care of the patients undergoing interventional endoscopic procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- A High School diploma or equivalent
- Maintains required BLS Heart Saver/Health Care Provider course
- Experience in endoscopic reprocessing and management of scopes
- Knowledgeable regarding infection control standards
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in endoscopy setting preferred
Preferred:
- SGNA associates program certification preferred
- Surgical tech or SPD certification preferred.
Scheduling Requirements:
- Flex Schedule
- Coverage for day, evening, and weekend shifts
Essential Functions:
- Assists the physician with both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS & EBUS) procedures, fine needle aspiration with slide preparation, biliary and pancreatic duct stents, esophageal stents, manometric procedures, esophageal dilations, specimen collection, and other related procedures/duties performed in both the endo and operating room suite.
- Endoscopy techs are required to have knowledge of the procedures, aseptic technique, and room setup.
- They confirm that the correct equipment is in working order prior to the procedure and can troubleshoot all endoscopy equipment.
- They perform a variety of functions from decontamination of bio-hazardous material, to cleaning, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of various instruments and equipment.
- They work in a fast-paced environment and must have the ability to prioritize work assignments and interact well with peers, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals.
- Maintenance of a clean, organized work area is essential.
- They are flexible with scheduled hours to meet physician, patient, and department needs.
- They are responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, incorrect counts.
Pay Range:
$31.05 Hourly Rate
