SouthCoast Imaging Dept. is looking for a Weekend MRI Tech at $75 per hour.
Under the clinical supervision of a Physician or Office Manager, this role provides patient services using imaging modalities. The MRI Tech performs the majority of exams with minimal supervision and operates magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes by performing the following duties:
Qualifications:
- Ability to operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images.
- Knowledge of basic MRI procedures, protocols, methods, and techniques.
- Knowledge of the latest trends and techniques in MRI technology.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform testing, including body mechanics and patient movement.
- Knowledge of equipment, including common safety hazards.
Responsibilities:
- Interview patients to explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures.
- Provide patient services using imaging modalities.
- Enter data such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into imaging equipment.
- Monitor patient safety and comfort and view images of the area being scanned.
- Key commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers into the computer.
- Perform or assist with other clinical and non-clinical duties as assigned by Supervisor or Physician.
Education/Experience:
Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school. Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education.
Requirements:
Professional registry for modality employed in, when mandated by Federal or section certifications or registry eligible (i.e., ARDMS, RT (M)). Must maintain continued education (CE) credits as required and maintain currency of BLS/CPR certification.
