Description:
The registered dietitian (RD) is responsible for the nutritional assessment and intervention of acute care hospitalized patients. The RD recommends appropriate medical nutrition therapy based on the patient’s diagnosis, nutrition-focused physical exam, and overall health status. Identifies the proper nutrition regimen and places orders in the medical record. Communicates the plan of care to all responsible parties. Educates staff, patients, family, and significant others on the nutrition plan of care. Documents findings, orders, and interventions in the electronic health record. Contributes to departmental achievements through process improvement. Supports best practice standards of care by utilizing evidence-based practice guidelines. Estimated salary range for this position is $59,359.09 - $77,166.82 / year depending on experience.
Qualifications:
Degrees: Bachelors
Licenses & Certifications: Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN), CDR Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist
Additional Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nutrition (BSNT) required. Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Commission on Dietetic Registration, and Florida State licensure (LD/N). Board certified in an area of nutrition-related specialty OR Master's Degree or higher. This position requires direct patient care through assessment, intervention, and care planning. Years of experience must be obtained in a hospital clinical setting. The following proven skills are expected: excellent verbal/written communication, critical thinking, basic computer skills, and service excellence.
