The 1W Adolescent Unit at Spring Harbor Hospital specializes in the care of adolescents. We offer a 14-bed unit designed for the care of children, generally at the ages 12-20 years old, who require acute mental health treatment. Our multidisciplinary patient care team specializes in the treatment of diagnoses most commonly found in children and adolescents.
These include:
- Depression
- Disruptive Behavior Disorders
- Emerging Psychotic Disorders
- Anxiety Disorders
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Substance Use Disorders
Unit programming includes comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, individual and family therapy, occupational therapy, yoga and on-site academic tutoring. Our facility also includes access to a gym and outside playground and courtyard areas.
