POSITION SUMMARY
$39.90/hr - $57.88/hr plus 10% per diem differential
Anticipated schedule: Wednesdays from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
The CT Technologist works under the direction of a board-certified radiologist and is directly responsible for the optimal completion of all procedures utilizing a computed tomography (CT) scanner. May be assigned to a variety of hospital or clinic locations depending on the needs of the department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates equipment producing ionizing radiation under direct supervision of a physician.
- Performs quality control functions in CT in association with department quality control program.
- Assists physicians as necessary.
- Assists in providing care for moderate sedation patients.
- Provides care appropriate to the age of patients served (pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients) based on principles of growth and development and life stages.
- Maintains a log of all patients, procedures, complications, and path file.
- Maintains appropriate supply levels.
- Transports patients as necessary.
- Assists in patient scheduling.
Performed occasionally but critical to successful performance of the job:
- Keeps abreast of new techniques through continuing education, as well as attendance at departmental in-service.
- Performs additional duties as requested by the staff radiologist or imaging leadership.
- Cares for the patient in a safe and compassionate manner while in the CT suite and on hospital property.
- Exhibits a high standard of medical ethics and empathy towards patients.
- Participates in scheduled staff/department meetings.
- Mentors Medical Imaging students during rotations and clinicals.

Education:
Required: Highest science-related academic diploma or transcript.

Required: Previous CT experience.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:
Required:
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- CT registry at hire or valid Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) Temporary Computed Tomography (CT) License required at hire with CT registry required within one (1) year of hire for continued employment.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS.

- Works and communicates in a positive and cooperative manner with management, supervisors, medical staff, co-workers, other healthcare workers, patients, and their families.
