Sport Position Specialist - Women's Soccer
$1,000 - $2,500 stipend per semester

SummaryUnder the direction of the Director of Athletics and the Head Coach, assists the Head Coach with assigned intercollegiate sport.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide assistance in the assigned intercollegiate program.Assist with practice planning, game planning, student-athlete training and development, and film/video breakdown.Assist in coordination of statistics and film crew for home and away games.Work at sport camps, outreach activities, and fundraising events in the athletic department.Assist in coordination of concession stands in the athletic department.Work with athletic equipment/event coordinator in distributing team gear, laundry room, equipment help, and field set-up and clean up.Assist the coaching staff with recruiting activities.Provide assistance with supervision in Study Hall, Front Counter and other assigned areas; assigned case management and one-to-one meetings to assist student-athletes with Academic Services, Financial Literacy, and Retention Support.Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of this position.Knowledge and Skills
Requires knowledge of modern instructional practices, procedures and equipment. Requires knowledge of coaching techniques and theory. Requires interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Requires the skill to work with constant interruptions. The position requires knowledge basic filing and record retention requirements and procedures. Requires the ability to use a computer and common office software. Requires sufficient knowledge of English language, grammar, spelling, and punctuation to prepare routine correspondence and internal memoranda.Abilities
Requires the ability to work with a diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, cultural, disability and religious backgrounds of community college students. Ability to implement contemporary teaching methods and technologies. Ability to communicate clearly with students and staff, both orally and in writing. Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and community organizations. Ability to instruct and evaluate students effectively in the classroom. Ability to demonstrate commitment to professional growth and development through memberships in regional, state and national organizations or other activities appropriate to the discipline or assignment.Physical Abilities
Requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights of up to 75 pounds on a regular basis. Requires the ability to push, pull, and guide materials over 75 pounds. Requires the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch on a regular basis. Requires near and far visual acuity to read printed materials, moving objects, and observe work-in-progress. Requires speaking and hearing to carry on ordinary conversations. Requires the ability to reach overhead above the shoulders and horizontally. Requires sufficient arm, hand, finger dexterity to use a computer keyboard and other office equipment. Education and ExperienceGraduation from High School or the equivalent and one-year experience working with interscholastic or intercollegiate programs.Licenses and Certificates
May require a valid driver's license.Working ConditionsWork is performed indoors and outdoors (athletic field, classroom and virtual classroom environment) where some safety considerations exist. Physical contact with athletes. Travel within and outside of the district will be required. Evening and weekend work. Required Materials:
