Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Lab Technician for NJMS - Center for Immunity and Inflammation. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator or Laboratory Manager, the Lab Technician performs research activities requiring the application of standard techniques and procedures.
Key Duties
- Assists in packing, unpacking, storing and classification of lab supplies and specimens.
- May give suitable instructions to Laboratory Assistants, Service Workers, and other non-professional workers and monitors the performance of their work.
- Performs standard laboratory procedures involved in making required tests and analyses.
- Assists in preparing culture media, reagents, stains, and stock solutions.
- Assists with experimentation and research activities.
- Assists with the maintenance of the Laboratory facilities, equipment, and instruments.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in a relevant science is required.
- Prior research experience is an asset.
