We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Meat Production/Packing Associate to join our team at our meat processing facility. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, packaging, and labeling meat products while ensuring adherence to strict health and safety standards, including USDA regulations. You will play a vital role in the production line, ensuring that all meat products are processed accurately and meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspecting and Preparing Meat Products: Inspect meat products for quality, removing any bones, sinews, and excessive fatty tissue to ensure compliance with company and USDA standards.
- Cutting and Weighing Meat: Accurately cut and weigh meat according to client and production specifications, ensuring precision and consistency in all products.
- Packaging and Labeling: Wrap, package, and label meat products following company guidelines and customer requirements, maintaining product integrity and traceability.
- Operating Machinery: Operate processing and packaging equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all operational protocols and safety procedures.
- Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading meat products from distribution and delivery trucks, ensuring timely and accurate shipment preparation.
- Storage Management: Work closely with the storage management team to ensure all meat products are stored correctly, following strict temperature and hygiene protocols to maintain product quality.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular checks to ensure all orders are complete, correctly documented, and meet quality and safety standards.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to and enforce the facility's health and safety guidelines, including USDA and state regulations, to ensure a safe working environment.
- Sanitation Duties: Participate in regular cleaning and sanitation duties to maintain a clean and safe processing environment, including equipment and work areas.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- A food handler's permit is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of state and USDA health and hygiene regulations for meat processing.
- Basic understanding of food production processes, best practices, and meat storage requirements.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physically capable of handling heavy products and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.

Work Environment:
- Be prepared to work in refrigerated conditions.
