Hiring Range: $110,000 - 115,000
Primary Function: Provides direct, day-to-day supervision of nursing team members. Creates an environment where team members receive coaching, training, and mentoring in a positive and respectful manner.
Supervision: Supervised by the Sr. Medical Director
Essential Functions:
- Effectively identify and solve operational, administrative, and supervisory problems within assigned team.
- Create staff schedules which contribute to effective utilization of resources based on current and projected census needs.
- Facilitate effective client care, leveraging opportunities for excellence in communication between Nursing staff and clients.
- Assist in the integration and coordination of treatments efforts with multidisciplinary staff.
- Facilitate departmental meetings. Routinely deliver information relevant to processes, changes, and team development needs.
- In coordination with Human Resources, responsible for staff selection, training, retention, and performance management of Nursing staff.
- Collaborate with team members and other organizational leaders in improving and modifying work processes, updating procedures, and making recommendations to departmental policies.
- Oversees procedures for storage, accounting for and administration of medications and medical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements (CARF, OBH, and DEA) taking appropriate action to report medication errors and incidents in a timely manner.
- Assist in development of the departmental budget.
- As needed, during staff absences, provide safe and comfortable care for clients.
- Adhere to confidentiality laws including 42CFR Part 2, HIPAA and HITECH as well as all Harmony policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
- Possession of current Colorado RN nursing license.
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
- Two years of work experience as a licensed nurse providing direct patient care.
- One year of preceptor experience.
- One year of supervisor experience in behavioral health or substance use disorders treatment is preferred.
- Able to work rotating shifts and holidays in a facility open 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
- Must have valid Colorado driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record if driving Harmony vehicle or driving for Harmony business.
- If recovering from a substance use disorder, six months of continuous sobriety is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Skilled in effectively balancing supervisory responsibilities with clinical duties.
- Ability to function within the scope of practice of individual licensure, appropriately applying critical thinking and decisive judgement.
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, Huron leadership principles.
- Ability to relate with detachment and empathy to clients and families.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
- Knowledge of medical business operations and sound financial management is preferred.
- Ability to maintain knowledge and effective utilization of electronic medical record system to ensure that standards are met.
- Personal maturity reflected by sound judgment and decision making abilities.
- Authentic commitment to Harmony’s mission and vision, actively working to further organizational objectives.
Physical Capabilities:
- Physical health adequate to manipulate stairway, access all areas of Harmony’s grounds, assist with ambulation and perform CPR.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs with assistance.
