Staff Nurse– Orthopaedic and General Surgery
Location: The Lister Hospital, Chelsea, London
Time Type: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Shift Times: Monday – Sunday based on internal rotation; flexibility required for long days, nights, and weekends
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Competitive plus 9% shift allowance
We’re looking for a Staff Nurse to join our Orthopaedic and General Surgery team at the Lister Hospital, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC.
As the Staff Nurse, you will work in our 20-bedded surgical ward caring for Orthopaedics, GI/Colorectal, Gynaecology, Breast Surgery, and General Surgery. You will plan, deliver, and evaluate high standards of nursing care while working within a multidisciplinary team, supervising and directing junior and temporary staff.
You will participate in consultant rounds, liaise with other staff members, investigate patient symptoms, and manage pain and drains. You’ll demonstrate good clinical practice at all times, be accountable for your actions, and contribute to the setting of clinical standards, policies, procedures, and research-based care initiatives.
What you’ll bring:
- Registered Nurse Level 1 – NMC Registration
- Experience/Qualification in specialty
- Relevant post-registration experience
- Phlebotomy and cannulation training (desirable)
- Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures
- Relevant post-registration qualification (desirable)
