REQUIREMENTS:
- CPR Certification (Mandatory)
- Licensed Physical Therapy (Required)
- Preferred 1-2 years experience in long-term care.
- Good physical and mental health.
- Capability to perform all physical duties of the position, including lifting up to 40 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Possess training, knowledge, and experience for general supervision responsibilities.
REPORTING:
The Physical Therapist reports to the Rehabilitation Director.
JOB DUTIES:
- Understanding of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology.
- Basic knowledge of operating physical therapy machines and their maintenance and repair.
- Administering treatment and rehabilitation services to patients with injuries or disabilities. Conducting exercises for residents.
- Providing treatment under the supervision of the staff Physical Therapist. Adherence to physical medicine practice standards.
- Observing and assessing treatment effects, discussing observations with staff and Physical Therapist.
- Monitoring and documenting resident treatment and responses.
- Assist in developing a teaching plan based on learning needs and evaluating its effectiveness. Involve the family in teaching when appropriate. Inform staff and the Physical Therapist of outcomes.
