Job Description Summary
Under limited supervision, the Cardiovascular Technologist I assists physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in an invasive procedure arena specializing in the care of patients undergoing basic diagnostic catheterization and interventional procedures. This role functions as a resource to staff.

Job Duties:
- Performs scrub duties and related procedures for cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization and right and left heart catheterization with no assistance.
- Performs scrub duties and related procedures for peripheral diagnostics or interventions with minimal assistance.
- Ability to scrub, gown, glove and set up back table with necessary equipment.
- Records cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization and left and right heart catheterization hemodynamics with accuracy.
- Monitors procedure, and documents inventory used and order of events appropriately in MacLab(tm) event log.
- Maintains ECG set up and rhythm monitoring.
- Maintains basic hemodynamic set up and waveform monitoring.
- Assists in preparation of room with fellow staff members for safe, effective care of patient.
- Performs required checks on all safety equipment.
- Ensures adequate supplies present to perform procedures.
- Transports patients alone or accompanied by a fellow staff member.
Required License Certification and Registration: RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI certification required within the first 2 years of hire and must be maintained. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within three (3) months of hire and thereafter maintained.
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent
Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year. Graduation from an accredited Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program; or equivalent education and/or experience and RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI certification required; or Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology and one year of radiologic experience.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, and other physical activities as detailed in the original description.
